Sun shone on more than 45 riders who took part in the Wadebridge Charity Cycle Ride on Saturday 16th September helping to raise money for two local organisations.
The ride, which has been running for 36 years, covers an 18-mile route around the Wadebridge and Padstow area, stopping for refreshments along the way.
This year’s event has helped to raise almost £1,800.
The money will be divided between this year’s chosen charities are Concern Wadebridge, to raise money for its annual Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch for 100 people and Cornwall Ambulance Service towards blood test monitors for its vehicles.
Organiser Norman Trebilcock said: “Thank you to all the venues along the route who help us to provide refreshments including Red Lion at St Kew Highway, Trevathan Farm and The Molesworth Arms. Also thank you to Mike Ford for doing the barbecue and Sharps Brewery for the Doom Bar.
“Thank you to Padstow Harbour Commissioners for giving the riders a free ferry ride from Rock to Padstow and of course to all the riders and volunteers who have helped on the day to make it a success – we couldn’t do it with you!”
Manager of Concern Wadebridge Emma Burt said: “We are delighted to be the choose charity for the 2023 cycle ride. The money raised will help us to provide a Christmas party for 100 local senior citizens who might otherwise be alone. We provide food, entertainment and most importantly a really good giggle to everyone is the festive spirit.
“Thank you to Norman and everyone who made this possible, we are extremely grateful.”
