At the start of 2024 we hosted a Thank You party for all of our wonderful volunteers, trustees and staff at The John Betjeman Centre.
Nearly 60 people attended the event and enjoyed pasties and cakes as a reward for all their hard work and dedication in 2023.
Manager Emma Burt said: “We would not be able to run the centre, its activities and fundraising if it was not for our wonderful team of volunteers. They give up several hours a week to serve drinks, meet and greet and talk to our clients. We offer a welcoming smile and safe space to all and we could not do it without them.
“They are all invested in the charity and have really supported me and my crazy ideas over the past 12 months.
“We have had some real highs and lows over the past year but together we have laughed and cried and been a real family network. It is evident to most that the staff see this as more than a job but a passion too.
“Not forgetting the trustees, who are all volunteers too and work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the charity is running as it should – we are a large, perfect team and I couldn’t be prouder!”
